Welcome To Playmates!

Our Mission Statement

In response to the needs of our communities, Playmates will be a safe, inclusive family service provider with developmentally appropriate programming that stimulates children's desire to be life-long learners.

We will work in partnership with families, community-based organizations, and our county's Boards of Education to identify and eliminate barriers to a secure, nurturing and comfortable learning environment.

We care enough to make a difference!

Our Philosophy

The philosophy of Playmates Preschools and Child Development Centers, Inc. (Playmates) has always been to develop and deliver a curriculum that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of children from cradle to college.  We are committed to providing services to families that enhance children's abilities to reach their true potential and to offer a healthy and nurturing educational environment for all children.  In such an environment, children are accepted for what they are, not for what they are able to do and those with special needs develop and excel along with their peers.

Our teams provide guidance and support to our children and families through service, consultation, meetings, and workshops.  These efforts increase community awareness and commitment to addressing the educational, social, and emotional needs of all children in our early education programs.  This same philosophy will be utilized at any center established and operated by Playmates.

Playmates is an equal-opportunity child-development center serving the community on a non-discriminatory basis.  Whether your child is new to the childcare or preschool experience or a seasoned veteran, Playmates offers programs that are age- and developmentally-appropriate.  All programs offered by Playmates are designed to help children and families with transitions and growth.

Playmates has an "open-door policy" in which parental visits, conferences, and observations are encouraged.  Playmates follows all rules and regulations of the West Virginia Department of Health, the West Virginia Department of Human Resources, the Office of the West Virginia Fire Marshall, and the West Virginia Department of Education. Our agency has been serving the community for over 25 years.

Nationally Accredited

Playmates has earned National Accreditation through NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).   NAEYC Accreditation is a voluntary system by which programs measure themselves against a national set of standards. NAEYC Accreditation has been, and continues to be, the mark of quality in early childhood education.  Program accreditation recognizes and promotes high-quality programs for young children . Accredited centers provide higher  quality services, better compensated and higher education teachers with specialized training in the early childhood field,  and lower turnover rates. A high-quality early childhood program is one that meets and promotes the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of the children and adults- parents, staff, and administrators - who are involved in the program.
